Neighborhood Villages Issues Statement of Support for Early Education Funding in the House of Representative’s Fiscal Year 2027 Budget
BOSTON, MA – Neighborhood Villages, a Boston-based nonprofit dedicated to realizing a future in which all families have access to affordable, high-quality early education and care, released the following response regarding the Massachusetts House of representative’s Fiscal Year 2027 (FY2027) budget proposal:
“We applaud the House of Representatives for signaling its unwavering commitment to Massachusetts families by investing $1.8 billion in early education, which is the bedrock of our Commonwealth’s economic health and critical to children’s development and well-being,” said Sarah Muncey, President and Co-Founder of Neighborhood Villages.
“We appreciate the House’s continued investment in key programs supporting families with young children, especially in such a challenging fiscal climate, including the Commonwealth Cares for Children (C3), a vital program for maintaining quality and affordability across the sector. The House’s proposal also increases investments in the Child Care Financial Assistance (CCFA) Program, re-opening the waitlist and increasing affordability for more families to access care.
In the coming months we look forward to working with the Legislature to reach a final FY2027 budget that prioritizes a bright future for the children of Massachusetts and the adults who nurture them.”
